First hand accounts of Wanderlust clients who loved their trip!

Trip #1: Active family of 5 headed to Rome and then Positano along the Amalfi Coast. The weather turned warm and sunny once they arrived in Positano allowing them to spend most of their time outdoors and on the water. While in Rome they had a great golf cart tour and a memorable morning at the Vatican.

Of all the things we did I think my favorite of them was traveling to the island of Inishbofin and biking along the coast of the island.

We went to a place called Moran’s Oyster House and even though I don’t care for oysters, I had really wonderful fish and chips and the place was very cool.

Why would you encourage other travelers to visit this destination?
Beautiful green landscapes with rolling hills and farmland. It’s also a lovely temperature especially for the summer. If you don’t like the scorching heats we often encounter in the States Ireland is a perfect destination to escape from it.

Trip #3: This family jumped at the opportunity to all travel together. And are ready to plan their next family adventure. They covered a lot of ground in Portugal! They loved the bustling city of Lisbon and then all that the Alentejo region has to offer- beaches, wine, ruins, walled cities and sunshine!

How did you choose this destination?
Wanderlust helped us narrow down some options. Our family was interested in visiting Europe, but we all have been to many different places. We were looking for someplace none of us had been and we landed on Portugal.

We all loved the Bairro Alto neighborhood in Lisbon. We had a great dinner and listened to Fado. We then had fun walking around the crowded, table-lined streets soaking in the vibrancy of the people and places.

One of our favorite treats was the Portuguese custard tart, Pastel de Nada. We ate them most mornings for breakfast with our coffee. We enjoyed all the fresh seafood (sardines, shrimp, codfish) we had seaside, and the meat and cheese we ate in the Alentejo region. Our favorite meal was at Taska Fina in Évora. We had chicken, salmon, and steak that was prepared in the regional style. And the owners were lovely.

Why would you encourage other travelers to visit this destination?
We would recommend Portugal because of the variety of activity and locales you can visit in close proximity. We were able to spend time in the city, at the beach, and in the country in 10 days. There is a laid-back, comfortable feel. The locals are friendly and happy to talk about their history and customs. And there is much history and many historical sites to visit, but opportunity to just relax and enjoy a different country and culture.
